G6 (Piston and Rod Seals)

The PDF Ultranthan® Cylinder Seal Profile G6 is an elastomer-groove ring which require header rings because of their symmetrical shape and their pointed sealing lips. These header rings may either be produced from metal or they can be made from rubber compounds. In the case of rubber header rings, either moulded rings or O-rings may be used. It is also possible to use plastic header rings. The cross-section of profile G6 is rectangular. The sealing lips of the profile G6 offer a higher initial preload than profile G5 due to stronger lips, therefore the oil-film is removed even more intensively when there is no pressure. This profile is mainly used as a cylinder seal , but it is also possible to use it for the sealing of piston rods. In this case, however, no plastic header rings should be used.

• Working Temperature: -30°C to 100°C (-31°F to 212°F)

• Surface Speed: = 0.5 m/s

Pneumatic Application:

• Working Pressure: = 16 bar

• Working Temperature: -30°C to 80°C (-31°F to 176°F)

• Surface Speed: = 1 m/s
