To date, U-rings have been used in a great deal of pneumatic equipment as rod seals and also as scrapers to prevent the penetration of dirt. Unlike this conventional seal design, as a seal combination, the QHLP seal scraper elements fulfill the function of sealing at the piston rod and in the housing and also fulfill the function of the scraper.

QHLP seal scraper elements have completely molded sealing lips with a rounded sealing edge. This results in the favorable friction behavior and a high wear resistance. The gap between the sealing lip and the scraper which is filled with grease appropriate to the operating conditions and the temperatures occuring contributes towards improving the slip behavior and reducing the stick-slip tendency. The service life is also not reduced even if lubrication is lacking thanks to the design of the dynamic sealing surface. QHLP elements can even be used for operation with oil-free air since they are independent of external lubrication. The contact surface of the QHLP element on the retaining ring is slanted in order to improve support. The angular metallic support is rubber covered on all sides in order to provide protection against corrosion. This is particularly advantageous if operating with untreated or moist air.

For use with treated compressed air (maintenance unit) or dry and oil-free compressed air (after installation greasing)
