These seals have a symmetrical configuration of the sealing lips and are mainly used in single acting or double acting standard hydraulic cylinders, particularly for mobile hydraulics under rough operating conditions.

The thermoplastic Polyurethane material used for U-Cups has a high abrasion resistance, a low compression set and exhibits a high resistance to clearance extrusion. The seal design and the Polyurethane properties give efficient fluid sealing, reduced friction values and a low wear rate. These seals are suitable for closed groove installation.

The sealing effect of a U-Cup symmetric seal is obtained thanks to the lip pre-compression due to installation and to the pressure effect on the lips.
